About Me

I have over 45 years of clinical and consulting experience. I provide services to companies contracting with Employee Assistance Programs and national managed care companies. I work with individuals, couples, groups and families in my private practice. I also provide clinical supervision to individuals seeking counseling licensure.

I have developed numerous training manuals and have presented training to both the private and public sectors across the state. I retired after ten years as the Campus College Chair for the University of Phoenix's College of Social Sciences programs (Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Human Services) at the end 2014. I was also an instructor for the University of Phoenix's Master of Science in Counseling/Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor of Science in Human Services programs until 2016.

I received my Ph.D. in Counseling through the Counselor Education Department at the University of New Mexico in 1991. I served as President of the New Mexico Mental Health Counselors Association in 1994 (our first year of licensure) and again in 2008 - 2009, and I also served as the NMMHCA Publications Chair for several terms. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Mental Health Counselors Association.

I have two sons, two adorable grand daughters and a sweet little grandson. I love to read, walk my dog, Lola, and am learning how to "paint" using digital art (sketching on an iPad).
